I bought a HPP years ago second hand and never used it. I recently sold it and the person notifies me it is VIN locked. Is ther anyway to get it unlocked? I want to help this guy out and feel bad about it...But I didn't know.

I know someone that can unlock it, for a fee.....is there anyway to get around this? The fee is the same price I sold it for So i'm not sure what to do at this point

 

They can only be used on one car. To "unlock" you have to restore the original program to that car.

I'm surprised to hear that someone can "unlock" it - first I've heard of that.

 

Yeah I think most tuners can reset it...I will just give his money back, I don't want to screw the man over

 

You can probably talk with the people at Hypertech and they should reset it for you. Probably would be a minor fee, if any. Ask for Amy Faulk there at Hypertech.
