Knock retard and pulse width help please...
So been investigating my ongoing knock retard issue and have noticed that whenever my pulse widths (both left and right) jump up above one, i get an increasing amount of timing pulled. As the pw's rise, so does the amount of timing that is pulled. At 0 or 1, theres nothing pulled. At 2 it starts pulling, then more at 3 and more at 4 ect until it's maxed at 11deg. This is all when part throttle cruising and while just tipping into the gas. I've already got a bunch of timing pulled across the board in the tune also. It's usually in and around cell 10. Basically around the 1500 to 2000rpm range. Anybody have any take on this? I have Freescan files if anyone is interested in looking also. Thanks.

I doubt the knock is connected to the pulse widths. As you increase load on the engine, the pulse widths have to increase. When you increase load on the engine, the chance of detonation increases. One does not necessarily cause the other.
So any ideas of what could be causing the KR Fred or any suggestions on where to look? Its pulling timing during light to small increases in throttle even though i already have lots of timing pulled in those MAP areas. I'm at a loss at this point but will continue experimenting.

No it's not Fred. Blocked off and shut off in the tune. Could there be something i forgot to redu in the tune because of that or maybe something i need to adjust to compensate for the lack of EGR now? Using TunerCat. Still have the EVAP hooked up though. Thanks for the response also. Much appreciated.
