Me and my buddie were trying to program my car I got a bin file from a tuner(this was my falt not the tunners) and tried to upload it we read the file 2 times and it said it was good then I tried uploading it. and it said no pcm detected or something like that and the fuel pump kicked on and off then I shut down the program and tried to start the car and it will only run for a sec and quit with the fans on high and SES light on. Again I am almost a 100% sure this is my fault I just need to know what to do so I dont do it agian I am going to have the pcm socketed. Thanks Sean

 

If you got a pcm not detected error than I don't think your flash chips were erased, so you should be able to read and program.

I have a socketed pcm on the way now so I am not worried about it. I didnt try to read the file again but the car wont stay running and it didnt program it either. This is the same thing that happend to my buddies car when we tried to do his.

 

can you give any descriptions of the computer you used. whats the opporating system?.. windows 98,ME,XP. did you use the windows based flash program or the DOS based? at what point did the program stop flashing? did you read the .bin file off a disk or off the hard drive? ive ruined a few computers for various reasons so i might be able to help out.

 

It sucks doesn't it. I thought Rob was not touching another PCM after the situation with mine Do you want to buy the extra chips I have. I have no use for them, they should be at Rob's somewhere.
