Some of these may be simple questions, I wanted to reset my airbags and find out whta the problem was because my airbag light is on (I just replaced the airbags and the module)

This is my first time using the scanner (borrowed from a friend who works for cadillac) and I can't get ahold of him. Can I reset/clear the codes like one of the options says and will that clear out the problem? I was tempted to because that's what I think I'm supposed to do but didn't want to screw it up... if it's not just that does anyone know my other codes/problems are?
