Re: ....just erased my pcm and then the .... cable failed

Have ION fix it, or check with Brian, don't know if PCM4less does these or not. I would fix it, because I have lt1edit and it is tied to the vin on my pcm.... I don't think tunercat does that though.

An extra is nice for emergencies, but I am keeping my main one.

Socketing and a set of extra chips will comes in very handy when you've failed your upload and you need the car ASAP. Believe it or not, the $60 charged for the socketing is a steal considering how much time and effort is involved in doing it. It also pays off by the 2nd fail. (2 repairs = $106 shipped and socketing + 1 set of extra chips is $103 shipped)

I F-ed up two computers before i knew what the deal was.

Here is the the thing when you go to re-write your computer.

1-Put it on a slow bat charger.
2-take out the fan relays-so the fan will not turn on.
3-turn off ANY thing on your car that uses ele.

after that it should be ok.

yes i always make sure nothing is running on the car and that the tuning program is the only one running on the comp. haven't had any issues yet.
