Idle problems

I've had an idle issue for years now, however after I installed a more agressive cam it is almost intolerable.
Sometimes I can drive the car and it will idle fine when coming to a stop and it will be fine as long as the engine is running. Other times after shutting off the engine and restarting it minutes later and coming to a stop the engine will dip down to about 500rpm for 3-5 seconds and either stall or it will catch and idle fine. Other times it will just plain die whenever I stop or if I push the clutch in. At that point in time it seems the IAC is completely shut because it will not start unless I crack the throttle blades a bit. But after starting it will idle.
It's done this with two different PCM's on two different tunes. I guess I'm narrowing it down the the IAC motor, but I just don't understand why it would behave fine one start cycle and crappy the next. Besides that damned part is almost $80 from parts america. :\
Anyone experience the same symptoms or have any dealings regarding this problem? Sorry.. the PCM hasn't been scanned so I can't say for sure what the readings are.

Thanks

Re: Idle problems

Well I found out what part of my problem is... For some reasons my LTrims on the passenger side were pegged. I cleared out the PCM and it runs better than ever now. Just wondering if that's going to happen again. Header on the pass. side does not leak in the slightest and the 02's are almost brand new.
