I still have a problem

The problem is my right O2 sensor is only reading .200 on my 94 Z28. I have checked the wires and the fuse and everything is alright. Does this mean my computer is bad?

Sounds more like a bad sensor. You're not running headers are you? Bad, burnt, shorted wires? If it is stuck at .2 then try switching sensors and see if the problem switches sides.

I do have headers. They burned the wires and I cut out the bad section and lenghtened them. I have changed O2 sensors and the problem still is happening.

I don't have headers myself but I recall reading a lot on the subject of headers and burnt wires. You didn't lengthen the wires on the sensor itself did you? If so you are going to need to replace it. If not then are you sure you've got a good repair. From what I remember, it seems people have problems with incorrect wires or repairs that don't involve soldering.

Anybody here with a little more insight?

When I lenghtened the wires I soldered them. The wire I used is a little bigger the harness wires. I extended the wires on the harness not the sensor. This is driving me crazy.

I remember reading awhile back, someone suggesting pressing down on the harness in different spots with the car running and your scan tool running to see if their are any shorts.

Anyone here who actually has headers with any suggestions?

You also sound like you might want to try swapping out computers with a buddy.

If no one else has any other suggestions then try posting this in the LT1 section and see if anyone responds. Wish I could be of more help to you on this.

I have tried the computer from my firebird to see if it worked and both O2s were screwed up. That computer is programmed for 42 lbs. injectors and a supercharger. I am just wanting to be sure it is the computer before I go buy one.

Anybody near you with a near stock tune that you could parts swap with?
Have you tried the harness thing? I read this either here or on the LT1edit list but if I remember right the person with the problem found a short caused by some wire that was in the harness but near a header tube. Apparantly got to hot. When he pressed down on the offending section he would temporarily get an O2 reading on the scan tool.

Not saying this is your problem but wouldn't cost anything to try.

Just wondering, did you find out what the problem is yet?
