HyperTech for 97 Z28 Stick shift

Does anyone have a hypertech computer on their Z28? If so is it worth it and about how much hp can be expected? Also what other companies make computers similar to hypertech, on my truck I use a Superchip which has been awesome, but sadly they dont make one for my Camaro!

Hypertech doesn't have a very good reputation for the f body community. Most who want a serious tune either get a mail order tune or get laptop software.

Even a mail order tune would be far better.

Would you guys happen to know if some of the mail order tunes allow to set the electric fans to turn on earlier than the stock set up? Also who would you recomend for a mail order tune?

Thanks guys I really appreciate all the help!

Yes, the fan ON temps can be changed to whatever you want.

Awesome! Thanks Shoebox!
I'm going to send my PCM in to do the power tune! Hopefully I can pick up a few HP

So far all the car has is a K&N CAI, and straight exhaust with no cats or mufflers. Would you guys happen to know if the MAF on a 1997 is screened or not? Becuase my MAF has no screen.

The factory MAF has a screen. Make sure you tell your tuner if yours is not there. They will want to know.
