How bad will it run with this tune?

Ok, the tune in my car right now is for cc306 cam, heads, full bolt ons, and 36lbs injectors. If I were to simply swap my cam for a baby cam (something bigger than stock, but much smaller than the 306) how would my car run with the current tune? Well enough for me to drive 50 miles to the dynotuner?

Depends how the tune is set up. You'll be fine to drive it though as long as you stick with the same injectors. If it was done right there should need to be VERY few changes made to the tune at all other than shift adjustments, rev limiter, and idle speed.

So if it runs well with the current tune and mods (6 speed car btw) then it will run ok with the smaller cam and same tune? I am going to leave the 36lb injectors in for the time being.

I just wanted to make sure the a/f ratio wasn't going to be way off. I wondered if the car would be running really rich with a baby cam and the 306 tune.

I'm not so much concerned with the rev limiter...and I think idle is set at 850 or 950 right now...which is fine by me.

If it wasn't rich with the big cam cruising it sure wont be with the small one. The only exception will be if it was a 93 speed density car. The wot will probably move around depending on how its tuned at wot. It may also want slightly different timing at part throttle, but who's to say how close it was with the 306 there either.

If you have a mass airflow sensor everything is based on that, it will either be right or it wont. Doesn't matter what is pulling the air in so long as its measuring it correctly.

Well, the guy working on my car got it all put back together and said that it was running rough at idle, but drives fine otherwise. Could it be the tune that's causing this?

We need data to figure out why the car is idling rough.

Other than that... probably something wrong with a plug or wire.
