tuning my 93

Hey,
I have a 93 z28 with a cam and some other mods, and have a pcmforless tune. I am happy with their work but would like to get a dyno tune. The problem is I cant find anyone in the Houston area that can tune my camaro, so I was curious if anyone here had any recommondatons on chip burners and the proper software to tune my car.

Thanks,

You can start here http://support.moates.net/ Under Tuning menu click on GM Tuning , then click on GM 86-95 (read me) . Also a couple of other forums http://www.speeddensity.org/forumdisplay.php?f=16 and http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/diy-prom/ can help out. Lots of reading Good Luck. And if you want to try another mail order http://www.lt1pcmtuning.com/service/ is good. None of these will probably work as well as a good dyno tune that will run $400-600 , figure 2-3 hours of a skilled technician, shop supplied burning/emulator tools, dyno time, chips and adapters for your PCM.

My plan now is to get the APU1 from moates, and tunercats. The only thing now is I was reading about an emulator, so I dont have to burn through chips to get the tune right. I dont know much about emulators, so if anybody has some knowledge on that, I would greatly appreciate it.

The APU1 comes with easy to follow instructions. Using CATS RT OBDI Tuner, it's very straight forward. You can set it to auto-update when you make changes to the tune, or only when you hit the "upload to emulator" button. I've used it to tune my '90 Cadillac which is a TPI-style ECM. It really works great!

The other thing is that the 27SF512 chips are flashable, so you can erase and burn the same one over and over.

Awesome! That makes things a lot simpler than I was expecting.
Thanks
