Help..Old and Decrepit...and this car won't fire..'95V-6 to V-8 conversion..OBD1 pcm.

Thanks Ahead for any help!
let me know if this is the place for this..

I performed the V-6 to V8 conversion on this ol '95 Camaro I got..
all parts and pieces I think are from a '95...opti is from a '96 with MSD cap/rotor
been few years since I used the stock pcm and LT1 Edit..
I'm gettin' old and I'm tired of messin' with it..! LOL
so I can use the help...

car won't fire..
has a current working program I've used in the past..
(I just rebuilt the motor and it has a Comp 305 cam and head porting)

here's what works..:
ignition is firing..at coil and at plugs
fuel pump runs and makes 60 psi..
(using LS1 injectors..same coil value as stock LT1's)
all sensors are reading..
(not sure if MAF is..no fault but 0 grams is the reading while turning over)

plugs don't feel wet..( I've lost my sense of smell and taste so I can't
read the plugs that way)
I sprayed fuel into the intake and it smoked out the throttle body..
got one small pop..
anything simple I've overlooked in this conversion..?
or just basic common sense trouble shooting I have spaced on..?

Thanks Ahead Again!
Matt

Hi Matt.

Are you sure you have the cam dowel pin in the correct hole in the back of the Opti?

Hey Fred!
How are ya!?

Boy I hope it is..I worked hard gettin' it right on the engine stand..

I just found 1 problem..no power to 1/2 of the injectors..2 on each side..
I've had them start on 4 cylinders before though..don't ask..LOL
I had to move pin "B" of C-105 of the engine harness to pin "K" of C-100

I had only spot checked the power before starting ...and the ones I checked had power..(good grief!)
now I see the plugs that I hadn't checked are flooded..
I'll try again when I get the plugs cleaned and the battery charged..

Good luck with that - I'd like to help with it if I was closer - I still have al the manuals and the programming stuff so if you have any LT1 edit questions maybe I can help with programming, diagnostics, or with schematics.

Thanks Kev..
I may holler at ya..
I now have power to all injectors but it only had one pop on trying to start it..
I'll pull the plugs..again..and then I've got coupla more things to look at..then I'll try it...again
I'm gettin' tired of messin' with this thing..I'm sure it's something simple..

well no go..
cleaned plugs
lowered fuel press to 52..wag
hooked up the logging software and rechecked all sensors..all look good

gave it a crank and 5 seconds of just turning over then a pop...
this thing oughta just fire up..
man..what am I not thinkin' of..?

..I guess I'm down to wholesale swapping parts now...
gonna look for a new opti and swap that out first..I was pretty sure the one I had was
good...all plugs are firing and no faults listed....oh well, I gotta try something..

Matt, I'll bring the manuals to work tomorrow and try to scan any underhood schematics for the 3.4 that might be helpful.

Did you have a timing light on it? Or try starting fluid in the intake?

thought I'd give an update since it's running now..
I can't believe it..just can''t but..
I had put the timing chain on wrong!..geeez that late at night thrashin' stuff bit me in the ***..
bent all the exhaust valve push rods..
talk about humbling..all the motors I've built and I never did that...sshheeeesshhh..

I also had a thread on the DTC 83 after driving it..
https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...7&goto=newpost

turned out the 94 4L60E I'm using needed a '94 cal since it doesn't have
pwm or the solenoid and the '95 cal was looking for it..
Thanks to all who helped!
Matt
