help with datalog questions

Well this is the first datalog i've done on my car after the BRE cam. For the most part i don't see any problems my air flow is up over 35 gps over my old 230/236 which is good, but the RPMs are what is funny. If you look at the graph the rpms kind of jump up in steps, you can even see the rpms climb and fall just slightly. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? You don't feel it in the car. Here is the log.

Oh i still don't know whats causing the Data errors every once in a while.

I don't have the software on this machine to view the log, but are the rpms stepping up with IAC count movements? If so, maybe the PCM is trying to get to the target idle speed as a different cam may idle differently. Maybe the IAC needs resetting or adjust for the correct idle speed.

Its not a problem at idle, its at WOT.

Re: help with datalog questions

From looking at your log, you are running lean and your engine is struggling from it. The car misses, but you probably don't feel it. Is your knock retard disabled? I also think you are running a bit too much timing.

No i have the KR enabled. At least i'm 99% sure its enabled. I'm actually running the same tune my buddy has on his 224/230 but i'm sure he has the KR turned on. I'm running a custom cam and the specs aren't even really that close to what he has. The duration is close but thats about it. I'm not sure if you can really tune for other stuff, like LSA and ICL. Ion how much do you charge to just make a tune that you can send to me? Do you think there would be a lot that you could improve upon?

Edit: thanks for taking the time to look at this Ion.

Re: help with datalog questions

Go ahead and fill out a tuning order sheet here:
http://www.madz28.com/order.php

and I'll email you a tune when I have some time, then you can do a datalog and if we see some improvements, you can get the unlimited email package for $60. Otherwise it'll be a bit cheaper for 1 tune.

Re: help with datalog questions

I forgot to mention... email me your current bin when you get a chance. It will be easier to get the tune closer having the bin you used on the logs to compare to the logs.
Thanks.
