HELP! 94 Z keyless entry won't work

I've tried new batteries but the keyfob still will not work. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it the fob or something related on the car?

Re: HELP! 94 Z keyless entry won't work

I have had problems where the unlock would work but the hatch or the lock buttons wouldn't. The lock and unlock on the doors would not even work. I found my problem to be the little black box (not sure what you call it) under the passenger side kick panel. I took the wire connections loose and put em back and it worked for a while. Later it started the same thing again and i kicked the kick panel. It has worked since. This probably isn't the answer you are lookin for. Its just my $.02.

Listen down in the RH kick panel to see if you hear any relays click when you push the buttons on your fob.

You might try programming and see if that does anything.

Re: HELP! 94 Z keyless entry won't work

Does the rear hatch works really well?

One thing I often do is take it apart and clean it. For example, after a month or so, the buttons will not work that well and I have to push and rub for the unlock botton to work. Then I will pull the case apart clean the contact where the button would touch the electronic circuit board. Note the contact is on the other side where the battery sit. You may notice that it is black or dirty.

What happens for mine, is that the button over time has a slight rip and it gets dirty where the contact is. Cleaning it up will make my keyless entry works like new. I clean where the contact is on the board and also the buttons.

Cheers
