Fried the PCM, Maybe ?

Hey, I have a LT1 in my 87 T/A . The guy who wired the car forgot to ground the PCM, it was just laying on the bell housing and I ran it like this for awhile then discovered it. The car would act as if it was losing electrical power. Got the ground hooked up and it ran fine for half a day then really got bad, so bad that a new VW Beattle almost had me for lunch. Do you think the PCM is fried from not having it grounded for a few weeks ? Thanks
