faq thread?

is there any kind of faq page for programming and such. for christmas i got a cable, i would like to know what the best free stuff is and all. right now i am running a "trial" version of datamaster. i am also curious what is necessary to actually change the cars settings. would that be like tunercat or something?

Tunercat for changing the ECM stuff..

DataMaster for logging...

that's about all the good stuff right there...

In terms of datalogging, I like freescan the best, it exports itself into a *.xls file and you can use excel to graph it anyway you want...yeah sure, DataMaster already graphs it for you, but excel just gives you more options with the graphs. And it's free!

i already have freescan, but its weird, it wont work with my 94 hawk, but it works fine with my g/f's 95 z. im totally lost.

DataMaster has an "export as .csv" option, that allows you to use the data in any sort of spreadsheet you want. I routinely reformat, edit and plot DataMaster .csv files when people ask me for help.
