Post Fan Issue

I am running a single Spal fan on my car and the issue is that my fan wire was wedged next to the radiator and the wire caught on fire and burnt up. So what I did was I took the fan off and made sure it worked. Then I looked under the hood and checked the fuses. Fuses are all good. For some reason my fan won't come on at 160 where it should come on. What could cause this?? I am thinking either my waterpump sensor is bad or I burnt the wires from the relay box to the fan. Any suggestions. I also tried setting up a jumper wire in my relay box to see if the fan would come on with my ignition on. It did not turn the fan on. The problem is that I can not use a Scan tool because I am running a Speed Pro.

In your post you never mentioned you fixed the shorted wires. Did you? If so, Ohm the wires with everything off. Check to ensure none are grounding or touching each other.

I cut the wires on the fan and fixed them but I did not replace the wire that goes directly to the relay. I am thinking that wire is bad.

Its one of those things that will just take time and effort to track down. How did you test the fuse? They can fake you out, make sure your checking the right one and replace it anyway.
