A/F tuning with tunercat question please...

Anyone know how much of an increase would have to be made in the % change to A/F vs coolant temp at WOT and % change to A/F vs RPM at WOT tables to produce about a 1 point A/F change? Just curious how big of a change i'll need to do to those tables when I get on the dyno. Have a charger and will be tuning the A/F at WOT using tunercat and want a good idea of how much i'll need to change it by before I go so i'm not wasting dyno time trying to figure out how much to add to equal a certain amount of change. Thanks.

go to my site (in sig) and there is a excell spreadsheet that you can plug in all your number in those two tables and it will tell the a/f ratio and every rpm and temp.

I only work with the secons table that you listed. I figure that working with one table is best. I know then that all changes in fueling come from the one table I changed. Also, you should have an AFPR, a quick adjustment in fuel pressure might get you right where you need to be, and take just one minute.

Have two extra tunes ready to upload with specific additional (or reduction) in fueling from one table. Also, when I run on a dyno, I data log the event and compare my narrow band O2 readings to the wide band unit that the dyno shop uses. Then I have a good idea how my O2s perform. Last time on the dyno, I learned that my narrow band O2 sensor reads 895 mV when the wide band says I'm at 13.0:1 AFR. Thats good knowledge to have.

Re: A/F tuning with tunercat question please...

Thanks for the info fellas. I do the same thing on the dyno Doc. I also note my O2 readings vs the dyno A/F readings. I just got a charger on the car and was out scanning some runs and looking at the O2's. They were in the high 800mv to about 900mv. With the charger I would like to richen it up a bit to be on the safe side. I added to both the tables with what I thought seemed like some big changes, but only got the O2's up to 925mv. At least it changed. I also scan with Freescan on the dyno and it tells me all I need to know. I'll get a couple of tunes ready for the dyno like you suggested. I like the idea of only using the RPM table. I think you get the same end result using one in the end vs changing both anyway. I got my initial tune for that charger from tjwong (Thanks Tom. You got me really close). It was a vette charger tune running the same boost as me with close to the same mods and even the same altitued. Tom must have had a good tune to start cause it got me very close initally. I'll tweek it on the dyno this week. Thanks again.

dont use a afpr regulator it will though the fuel injector constants off and when your dailey driving the car it will screw the blms, when you up the presure you have to up the injector constants accordingly.

do a search on it.
