Engine Swap and FreeScan
Engine Swap and FreeScan
Hey guys,
I had a 1994 v6 and I've put in a complete 1995 LT1, 4L60e, PCM, and engine harness. I also have a 97+ dash in my car with a 97+ v6 gauge cluster.
The car has been running and drivable for about a week now.
Now I know the v6 gauge cluster doesn't work on the v8 and that basically every gauge is off because of the v6 to v8 differences.
I had to get the OBD port wired up because of the wiring differences and once it was set up I hooked FreeScan up and drove it around the block.
Now that the background info is accomplished, here's the true question - FreeScan is also not reading the MPH at all. My car has not been tuned yet (cc503 cam, 3400 stall, etc) and I have noticed that it does not down shift when I'm sitting at a light. With the combination that FreeScan is not reading the MPH and the fact that my car is not downshifting when stopped at a light (I take off in the gear I came to a stop in unless I manually downshift the auto shifter) would this lead to believe my VSS is bad?
