dtc 16 & 51. HELP!

my car is has had a misfire after having my msd opti put in. ran fine for a while and now its misfiring. checked wires, coil wire etc. got dtc 16 and 51 pulled when i got my new cat' put in. any ideas suggestions? is it a crapped out opti again possibly?And input would be awsome. thanks

Did you have an "msd opti" put in (I didn't know they were shipping the complete units yet), or just the MSD cap/rotor, that's been available for a few months? DTC 16 is a problem with the optical sensor.

its just cap and rotor. so 16 means the opti is screwed then? well i guess i'll have to replace that again. when does the rest of the msd opti come out? well thanks a ton for replying to that qestion, take it easy.

Make sure those codes were not "stored" codes from your earlier problems. No one knows when the MSD opti is coming out. Just like the cap and rotor, the release date keeps getting pushed back.

they were stored codes but my car still runs like ***. i think im just gonna save up for delteq and get it over with.but thanx for the input and sorry i didnt reply back sooner.take'r easy
