Doesnt lt1 edit allow you to do the exact same thing as Accel DFI? If not what is the differnce?

One major difference.... the aftermarket computers offer the advantage of being able to handle "power adder" setups more easilly..... a second program triggered by an N2O arming switch.... or a boost sensitive system using a 2-bar or 3-bar MAP sensor for S/C applications. Can't do that with the stocker. For an N/A application, you can achieve a lot with the stock PCM. The aftermarket applications generally provide a wider array for fuel and timing maps, better injector drivers (allowing low impedance injectors, but there is a "patch" for the stock PCM), programming beyond 7,000rpm, additional inputs and outputs for other functions. The aftermarket systems can also be adapted for 8-coil direct fire ignitions..... e.g FAST/eDIST, MoTeC/IEX.

well i am planning on a turbo setup so is it an absolute must have or is it possible to get the stock one to read over 1 bar because I cant afford it at the moment and I'll have to put off my buildup again , but if theres no other way, then theres no other way I guess. Thanks for the help.

I cannot address this with respect to turbo's but I would strongly suggest you get an after market computer. I tried to use LT1 edit and though there are MANY guys out there succesfully using Edit on a blown car, I found it a hard slog and had to rely on other people a lot.

I'm assurred that the FAST is a lot more user friendly. I wish I had gone with it from the start.

Yes, I received it. I have away a lot recently, and have a lot of logs to look through.... might take a while for me to get to it.
