DFCO (Decel. Fuel Cut Off) Question

Interesting that I notice when I increased the Tunercat ECM constants indicating "DFCO Spark Retard" my compression deceleration was not as significant. It took me longer to slow down. Does anyone know how this works?

I like using compression braking. Is there any reason I cannot decrease this even more? Stock is 35 Degrees and my HPP program I have been modifying since day 1 has 24.

Ben

I've never used tunercat, but I do know that when decellerating you will get more compression braking from a retarded timing than from a more advanced spark. It's probably related.

Interesting. Stock DFCO Retard on my '95 was 25*.

I've still not quite figured out how it works. Stock, disable RPM was 1200 and enable was 1400... so does that mean stock-wise it was only engaging for 200RPM worth of decelerating?? Or does it mean it DOES NOT operate between those two RPMs, only above and below them?

Makes no sense to me...

If anyone figures it out, please let me know.
