uploading with LT1 edit and then swaping chips?

uploading with LT1 edit and then swaping chips?
I have a ?'s I am having trouble when I try to program my car with tunner cats up loader. it always fries the chips. If we used my buddies LT1 edit to put the file on his pcm and swtich the chips to my computer will that work??? I am not doing this to cheat out LT1 edit I just havent had any luck trying it the other ways.Thanks Sean
