Datamaster won't work but freescan does

Datamaster won't work but freescan does
I just got a 94Z. I tried to used datamaster EE on it and it says no PCM sync, but freescan will work on it. I used datamaster DA on the same computer for my old 93 and never had a problem with it. Does anyone have a clue to what the problem is??
