Datamaster says I have no PCM!
Well after I bought the converter, Belkin cable, soldered everything up, and hooked up all the cables, I could not get datamaster to work. I used the "test com" and it reported that my converter was fine, but there was no pcm.
I tried freescan....it would send the "shutup" and then say something about "received request for mode 8" and thats it. No readings at all.
I tried pccomm..."connection failed"
So any suggestions?
I tested the converter with hyperterminal, and it works. I do get an SES light if I unplug the MAF or AIR (fuse) so I'm guessing the PCM works. If I ground the top left two pins, then it sends it into diagnostic mode (fans on) but like other 94's it will not flash the trouble codes.
The car runs fine, which suggests that the PCM is working. The only odd thing is that my fans will never turn on automatically, I have to use my fan switch or turn on the AC. I think that may be a faulty temp sensor though.
thanks everyone
