I've been trying to test out the datamaster software and can not get it to connect the ecm. I have been using a dell laptop with a usb to serial adapter. I have been using a cable from akm. The laptop says the usb adapter is working properly. It will not recognize the ecm at all. Do you think i have something configured wrong? or could it be the usb adapter? Anyone ever have this problem before?

 

i had that same problem with my hp laptop. in the end it turned out being the serial to usb adapter. so i went of and bought a pci card to serial connection and it works great! if i remember right it was around 75 bucks or so.
