Re: Code 42, how do I fix?
Turns out that this code is an Opti code..Its missing a signal from the Opti, to the PCM..Either has to be either the Opti, or the pigtail harness....Anybody have this problem?

DTC 42 = Ignition Control (IC) circuit (shorted or grounded circuit)
Not necessarily an "opti code"..... can be related to many components in the ignition system. It may set along with other codes for an Opti related problem, but is related to the signal from the PCM to the ICM being shorted out.
As a result, the factory manual includes a fairly complex diagnostic tree that allows you to step your way through the possible problems, eliminating them one at a time. You need to get a copy of that diagnostic chart and work your way through it. If you can't find it online, I could probably find a copy that I could fax to you.
