code 18 (not in use?)

any idea why i get this message in the code?

code 18 (not in use) so if not in use, why throw a code?

could be disabled in the pcm?

this is in my 96 ODBI z28. i used freeScan and Datamaster

i got the code, right after Install the ODBI pcm, deleted and came back. i am planning to drive the car for some time and check again. hope its not a big deal.

First thing is that 18 is not even an OBD-II code. It is an OBD-I code. Freescan and Datamaster don't do OBD-II. You say 96 OBD-I. 96 is OBD-II. ...unless you converted to OBD-I...
