CKP Sensor unplugged - Ok to pass emissions?

Question CKP Sensor unplugged - Ok to pass emissions?

SO I have it unplugged (long story)

Now that it is unplugged, my SES went off.

Will I still be able to pass emissions or??????

Depends how they check. In many states, they now check the OBD-II by plugging into the ALDL connector, and flunk it if active codes are present. Here in NJ, if the SES light is on, its automatic "flunk".

If they do a dyno emissions check, absence of the CKP signal will not affect emissions, since its only used for misfire detection.

THey plug it in here too. Although because I unplugged it, the light is off so I would assume there is no code.

Now the SES is on even if U unplug the CKP sensor.

I did a crank relearn, reset the ECM and damn thing came back on.

Any one have any ideas or WTF this is?
