Turning off knock sensor....

I have heard that if I just unplug the knock sensor it just pulls the timing out just to be safe....What can I do to disable it.....I know I can tune it out...But I have heard it still will pull timing....I have also heard that I can use my OBD-2 pcm (conversion for High Stall) with an obd-1 knock sensor...Can someone tell me if this will work?? Ion I believe it was you that told me that but could be wrong......

I would do whatever I could to figure out why it's pulling timing. Cutout, exhaust rattling, bad bearing in the alternator, etc. It's a bad thing to eliminate the knock sensor, IMHO.

As high as the LT1 compression is, I wouldn't disconnect or disable the knock sensor. IS the header making heavy contact, will denting the header releive the contact?

I know what you mean, my passenger side header made a home on the k-member and has since made its own space between the header and k-member and the header it self.
