Changing computer chip

I have a 83 z28 crossfire fuel injected. When I got it, there was a high performance chip in there and it ran rather high(idle at 25 rpm in park) I diconnected the battery, took the hp chip out and put the original in. It now idles at 55rpm. I put the hp chip back in but it did not go back to 25 rpm, it stayed at 55rpm... Somebody tell me where I went wrong. I tried everything, I grounded the battery wires ( pos. and neg.), left them disconnected for a while... I even kicked it till my foot hurts(just kidding)...where did I go wrong?

Re: Changing computer chip

the problem is you have a CFI car. remove that crap and put on a regular manifold with a 4bbl and watch it run right with no more problems.
