Before my cam install and tuning, my car would run in speed density mode. For some reason it wont even start without it plugged in. I have to keep my foot on the throttle or she will die. Im also having some bad starting problems now that just happen occasionally. It kinda acts like it does if I try to start it without the MAF. Do you guys have any ideas what this could be?

 

when you unplug the MAF your car uses only VE tables to run, no compensation from the PCM.

the stock VE tables and timing tables in MAP mode may not be correct for the new cam

 

What could be causing the starting problems for no reason at all? What you said makes sense when the MAF is unplugged but what about when its not?
