I have an 84 camaro and i went to turn on my rear defrost while the engine was running and i heard a few clicks then my car just died!?????? So i tried to start it again and nothing at all! I have headlights, interior lights, but no dash lights. I really need some helpfull hints if anyone has any!!!! Thanks

 

Check your fuzes. it sounds like you popped one. I'd start with your ignition fuze. Use a continuity meter

 

if you don't find that the fuse is blown try the switch. i had a 84 and
the hot wire to the starter was grounding out where the starter hot
wire and header / manifold came in contact somewhere by the
fire wall and the dip stick if that made any since if not check for burn marks
on the hot wire that runs from the battery to starter
when this happened headlights and most everything else would work
just would not start
