cant connect with akm usb

I am trying to connect using my usb akm cable and cannot get a connection to the pcm. I have taken off the usb connection and used a friends back half serial port and connection on his computer and it works, but nothing with the usb. Any ideas since my laptop only has the usb connections.

I used the guide on the akm website and did the tests and passed but sill not working. Am I missing something or does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks

In the software you're using did you set it to use the correct port? I know I had to set mine to port 5 using the USB cable.

You loaded the all of the USB Drivers for the cable?

You restarted after loading the drivers?

Did you shut down the logging software and retry?

I remember when I tried Datamaster's Interface tester software to try my ALDL cable, it said that I was having problems, but when I tried Datamaster to log, and set the com port to 3 (for me) it worked just fine.

I am using xp

I am assuming this is the correct one, anything else, the machine was restarted

With Freescan you need to set the operational mode to Interact to get data. It's on the top right of the Control tab.

Did you get Freescan to work with your AKM USB cable? That's the route I'd like to go.

EDIT: Never mind, answer turned up later in my search. It works.
