This cannot be good......
This cannot be good......
Went to reprogram my PCM with a file I got from Bryan. I used LT1 Edit, everything seemed fine, didn't loose connection or power, got to 100% and I shut down as normal. Then I go to scan it, (Just to make sure there are no problems), and now my fans stay on all the time, the SES light is flashing about 1 time every 5 seconds and PCMcomm says no connection can be made with PCM. What is going on here??? I even tired to d/c the battery for a few minutes and that didn't work either. Someone help please.

This just happened to me Wednesday night. I downloaded a new program from Bryan and I have the same problem. From the info I have found the PCM is fried. If you find a different solution let me know. Look up my post and you will find some more info. He is out of town and I have an email out to him.

Brokenz: Yes..... I'm using LT1 Edit. I did in fact try to scan and reflash the PCM. I tried scanning with: PCMcomm, FreeScan and the progscan utility Bryan sent me. Everything comes back with a message that states the PCM is not responding.
1QUIKTA: Looks like we are in the same boat here w/o any paddles..... or PCM's for that matter.
I too, sent an E-mail to him explaining the sitution. I am hopful he will do what is needed to resolve the problem. I've read in other posts that the actual PCM needs to be sent somewhere and the chip re-burned. I am looking forward to seeing if Bryan is able / going to do this for us. I've also heard he is a really nice guy to work with and stands by his work. We'll see on Tuesday or Wednesday. Let me know if you hear anything and I will do the same. Thanks

the computer is gone.
i am assuming he sent you a .bin file and with LT1 edit you are supposed to use .lt1 files i believe. i know with tunercat if you flash the car with a .lt1 file then it is ruined but still completes the flash process like normal so it doesnt seem like anything is wrong besides what you are experiencing with the fans and SES light. so since you can fry a computer with tunercat using a .lt1 file then it seems safe to assume the same would happen flashing a .bin file with LT1 edit. i also know Bryan generally emails people .bin files... or he did for me at least. sorry for the bad news.

How did you go about flashing your PCM using a .bin file?? I would guess you have TC then and not LT1 Edit?? Thanks.

Ok, I see what you are saying. Yes, I did convert the file before programmed the PCM. I wasn't sure how to use the DOS programmer he sent in the zip file, so I wanted to be sure I could convert the file and use LT1 Edit to program it before I did anything. He then sent a message saying it would work, I then converted the file and programmed w/ LT1 Edit. I hope that clears things up.
