Low Profiles?

OK I'm going with 17 inch chrome rims (prolly Firehawk) and I need low profile tires. What do you guys suggest? I don't need DRs because I'm not racing, but I need something that looks good......

ZR-275/40/17's

BFG T/A KD's go for about $1,076.00 for the set.
From there they go down to
Kuhmo Ecsta MX, which will cost $588.00 for all four.

How to chrome rims look with Nittos? They low profile enough to look good? If I go with Nittos in the read, what are good looking low pro's for the front?

Don't understand what you're asking?
A Chrome rim and a black tire have been established as an acceptable look for over 40 years now.
Nitto's or RoadHuggers - all 275/40/17's are going to look the exact same with exception of tread pattern (or lack there of)
they are all the same size tire,
and all of them are black.
You couldn't tell Nitto's from Continentals from 10 feet.

As far as being low profiles, if you have 17x9.5" rims then about the only choice you have is 275/40/17's or you'll throw off your speedometer. Because of the overall tire diameter. And yes the 275/40's for a 17" are low profile. Its about half the length of an Eagle No-Mess tire applicator.

The 235/55/16 is considered low profile!!!

How would Nitto 275/40R-17 in the rear and Hankook Ventus HRII H405 275/40R-17 in the front look with Firehark chrome rims?

I agree with the 40 series. It is the perfect compromise on ride quality, wheel protection, tire selection, price, and appearance.
