Can i go to the strip with a P0336 code?

i was planning on running my car at the local test and tune. now ive got a crank positions sensor code. ive tried some trouble shooting, but im not going to be able to get a new sensor in the next few hours.

will there be any problems running it tonight with the CP sensor not getting the signal to the PCM?

thanks,
Jeremy

It doesn't use the CPS to run the engine, so from that standpoint you're fine.

What I don't know is if the PCM does anything in response to the failed CPS code. I wouldn't think so, but I don't know.

It doesnt do anything, its only there to detect misfires. No special modes no nothing but a light on your dash. It can be disabled in the tune with no ill effects.
