Cable failure in cold weather?

Has anybody else noticed their AKM cable not working when its really cold outside? Mine seems to work fine for about 5 minutes but once it becomes cold to the touch I always lose the connection with the PCM. However if I then place the circuit board in front of the heater vent while driving, the cable will come back to life. Weird huh.

Re: Cable failure in cold weather?

Sad but true, and I agree. Metal expands and retracts. Think thats what the plug pins are doing. Ran into that myself a few weeks ago. Hadn't programmed since summer. Got in and no luck at all. I had half my connections hard wired except the laptop end of the AKM board. Got it to kinda work after playing with it, but am most likely gonna hard wire it there too. The only way to insure no cable related comm issues is to hard wire everything except obviously the laptop connection. Sucks though, huh.
