Big Stuff 3 with LT1 and SEFI

Can Bs3 run a lt1 in SEFI without doing anything special, or do you need to add a cam signal?

Ive looked through all the wiring, and it looks like it just takes the opti as a crank signal and runs in batch fire???

Oh ya, if it is batch fire, whats the easiest way to convert into SEFI. I am already running a crab cap distributor in it, just add on a sync kit?

Re: Big Stuff 3 with LT1 and SEFI

Did you ever get an answer to this question??? I am looking at the Big Stuff 3 system for the same application and I am interested to know how to best reference the cam. I have thought about modifing the opti-spark housing and install a sensor that would establish cam location. Also, it appears that a crank trigger would be the best way to trigger the spark...I have the LTCC 8 coil system. Any thoughts on this???

I never got a "for sure" answer. But in the research I was able to do, I believe that unless add a cam sync, that it will be batch fire.

I think the easiest way would be to add a stub drive cam sinc from MSD. The LT1 intake isnt that hard to modify.

As for a LTCC or Delteq??????

If you run it without a cam sensor (as I am currently) it will basically operate in random sequential.

You can run a stub drive cam sensor if your intake is modified for it, or fab something up off of the optispark base.

Crank trigger would also be the best route, though mine is currently running fine triggering off the opti.

The BS3 can also be configured to fire LS1 coils directly.

Do you use the LS1 coils as well?

Re: Big Stuff 3 with LT1 and SEFI

I'm running with a crank trigger. I'd not planned to but when the shop that re-wired car and installed the Big Stuff ran into timing issues it looked like it was that or LTCC/delteq. They told me I'd have to swap to a LS1 ECU if I wanted to use the COP ignition setup. I'm happy with the crank trigger though.
