Hypertech Error

Hey Guys,

I have a HPP 3 on my 2000 LS1. I had tuned it almost about 2 years ago and handn't messed with it since. Neither have I let anyone use it. Well today I plugged it it to change the shift firmness and I get no luck using it.

First
It turns on normally.
Then
It gives the "Power Programmer has Programmed" message and displayes my cars VIN
It continued to do a "SELF-TEST" and displayes the message that its communicating with the car and asked me to turn the key(not craking engine). This is where it goes wrong.
Then I get " NO VIN FOUND IN PCM, CANNOT IDENTIFY" and proceeds to shut off after about 30 seconds.

The happened 3 out of 4 times. The 3rd time it gave a message telling to contact HYPERTECH at their 800 #. I know I need to contact them but was curious if anybody knew what may be going on.

Has anyone ever had this happen before? The car did not have a battery on it for about 6 months once. Does that affect it any?

Thanks in advace.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hypertech Error

You need to contact Hypertech before trying to program it again. I hope you're the original owner of the unit or else they won't help you. :blah:

I am but I tuned it with the HPP about 2 years ago and made some minor adjustments. Now it gives me this error.

Anybody ever got this before?
