Autozone can't scan my 95?
I thought there generic scanner would work as long as they have a gm 16 pin.
Well I'm looking at http://www.autocheckup.com/ and what would be the best scanner/cheap that can scan obd1/ obd1 16 pin/0BD2.
Let me know your guys opinions.
Thanks Rob

Yup, go here and click on the 94-95 LT1 Edit> http://www.carputing.com/
You can get their free scan software, then buy a interface cable for a laptop.
If your unsure of yourself best bet is to find a LT1 Editing guru on here that is close by and go visit him. There are some real good tuners on here, like tjwong or madwolf and more!
They have really helped me out a lot and I own a custom shop!
Wish they would come work for me!
I buy them a Dyno!!!

Re: Autozone can't scan my 95?
Well thats a different route also, I do have a basic laptop.
The reason I wouldnt mind a scanner is I can do more then just my car, cause I do work on other poeples cars friends/family and this would be a great dianositc tool.
Any suggestioins on scanners guys?

Re: Autozone can't scan my 95?
Many of the '95 have OBDI system with a OBDII connector plug. If autozone tried and OBDI connector won't work, same is true with a OBDII scanner, right plug but not the right sytem.
Moates cable USB has worked for me. If you get that and Freescan, then you can scan your own car and opens the door for cheaper PCM tunes.
Good Luck

ALL 95's are OBD-I PCM with a 16-pin OBD-II style ALDL connector.
Outfits like Auto Xray and Actron make optional 16-pin OBD-I connectors for their scanners. You can also use a scanner with a 12-pin connector, and use jumpers, as outlined on Shoebox's website:
