B&B Electronics (maker of Autotap) is about 1 mile from my house. I had borrowed a friends Autotap and was using it on my 97 Camaro and was having quite a few problems getting it to work. E-mails to B&B were of little help. I offered to bring my car to them to see if they could figure out why THEIR software would not work. They were not real interested in trying to help me either. They weren't willing to hang around past 4:30 when I got off work to take a look at things. I was not impressed by them or their software and gave it back to whom I borrowed it from and he put it in a closet. There it's sat for over a year....and he has no intention of using it after my experience.

BTW, as long as they haven't introduced anything new lately, Autotap is just a diagnostic software and is only available for OBDII cars.

If I were you, get Datamaster, Tunercat, and an ALDL cable and you're set and it only costs a little more than just the Autotap software.

I've had Autotap for two years, and never had a problem with it.

I'm sure. Seems like I was one of the only people that did. Go figure.
That's OK though...converting to OBDI was easy.

As noted above, AutoTap is not available for your OBD-I 1995, and AutoTap is only a data scanner/logger, and can't alter the program.

There is a new AutoTap product available for the LS1 cars that is bidirectional, and will allow the alteration of program tables and parameters as long as the AutoTap system is attached. But it can not permanently alter the programmed data.

I have AutoTap for my 2001 Silverado, and was disappointed to find that although my laptop appeared to meet the minimum requirements for speed and memory, it would take 10 minutes to load, and could not store any display configurations. AutoTap responded promptly to by e-mail, but I was further disappointed by their aloof response that essentially said "you need a more powerful computer... more speed, more memory"........
