Autotap question in relation to LT1 Edit

I use autotap to log data on my 96 Z. The question is what do I log to get engine load in KPA? Autotap has engine load monitoring, but it is in %. I know there are a couple of spots to reduce the amount of timing advance across the board, but I would like to alter specific rpms and loads. Any help besides pointing me toward LT1 edit boards would be greatly appreciated as I have read through 9 million posts today already.

Thanks,

I think what you are looking for is the MAP values from Autotap. If you are looking to set timing at different RPM and load values, the load is MAP values. Setting Autotap to record MAP will give you an exported to Excell graph that has both KPa and Inches values.

Thanks... I went out and ran a test with these values being logged: Coolant temp / MAP/ RPM / Both O2 sensors / Knock retard / timing advance / LTtrims
The test is simply a run at closed loop from second gear 1000 rpm to 6200rpm at WOT. I know I should use third, but I don't need another ticket...lol.

Now the question is do I just go in and remove the amount of timing retarded at the specific rpm and kpa? That is what I have done right now, but no time to test run again until later. Any pointers would be great!

I have to be very carefull about knock retart because of the blower on my car, my goal is always absolutely 0 knock. For me i would back the timing down a bit more than what the controller took out. Then work up from there in 1 degree increments until i saw knck retart again and then get rid of the last advance I did.

To do any fuel system adjustments at WOT the best thing to do is get on a dyno with an O2 wideband and do your adjusting there.

Cool thanks,
Yeah I have my fuel just about right (875-945). I need to add a little to the 875s, but saving that for the dyno. Just trying to button up the timing. To tell you the truth I didn't have knock until recently when I installed my new rockers. I know they are right on the money cause we did them three times...lol. Maybe I need to lower the sensitivity of my LT4 KM instead of pulling timing? I guess maybe do that if I see no improvment from pulling advance out? Just trying to get as much info as possible.

You can try pulling advance or get some racing fuel like a 104 octane nolead and put it in your tank. That should get rid of any real knock. Then you'll know.
