I have an older but compatible dell laptop.serial port.
I have tried using old dos autotap on my 96 z28 version 2.10 and then windows version 1.1 and now windows 2.05.The program has started,run the vin and checked parameters and worked for a few minutes only and then shut off and says lost connection.I read somewhere about registration number.Didn't see it offered in any screen.Also some error also has mentioned something about my ports or something.This is frustrating.I have tried to contace B and B but only get voice mail.

I am not that computer literate and not sure what to do with my ports.Do I need some kind of modem card in the computer.I have a couple but they aren't in there right now don't think.or maybe that is some other card like for high speed.The program like I said seems to work and the car spits out numbers for a few minutes before it stops reading and says connection lost.My data port in the car works for sure as use my hypertech and hypertech powerscan off the data port no problem at all.

Any help there guys..
