Anyone using a open loop tune

I'm thinking of trying a open loop tune for obdi conversion. Anyone here using one, results? Thanks.

Are you asking whether you should run in open loop permanently? Never on a street vehicle. However, when leaded fuel is used, or O2's are impossible (such as a water-jacketed exhaust), it has to be open loop, but be aware that open loop tuning has no fuel correction capability, and you'd better be right on the money as far as fuel goes.

Good, then it's tuned pretty well. Not pertinent to answering his question, though.

How is that? The question is if anyone is using an open loop program and how it's working for them.
AHARTZ28 seems to be doing just fine with his.

As far as open loop. Why do you want to run open loop? On a mostly stock car I don't think it would be much of a benefit.
If you have your heart set on it, you'll probably need to do it with a wideband to do it fairly well.
Seems like most of the people running open loop are doing it due to large cams and trying to clean up part throttle and idle stuff.
I think the best reason to do it would be to eliminate the O2's on a car that runs on leaded 100% of the time.

The speed denisty crowd claims SD makes more HP than MAF systems. Now that my closed loop tune is tweaked and car runs great I thought I would try a SD tune, then compare the two at the strip.
Data logging and tweaking the pcm is fun and I'm addicted.
