Anyone program out cam surge?

Anyone know how to do this? Is it timing related?

Yep, most of it is done by adjusting timing. Typically a few degrees added here and there in the lower rpm (where it is felt) tables.

I was under the impression that the reason for a custom grind cam besides the obvious was to controll cam surge, Like for example my custom grind has a +4 on the timing, When I ordered my cam I basically told them what parts I had and told me what my car will handle and provided a recommendation for a grind.
So isn't the +4 to control cam surge or is it for something else?

Which tables do you adjust? Closed throttle advanced? the 400-4000 table?
