Any way to tune for gears without HyperCrap?

I'm getting 4.10's installed shortly.

I really don't want to dish out an additional wad of cash for a Hypertech Programmer when I only need it for the one thing.

What are my options? (If any....)

What does that mean?

Either you're going to have to dumb it down a bit for me - or explain in a much more technical way, because I don't know what a cable and tune is.

EDIT: Shoebox just put me on to www.madz28.com - seems to have everything I need.

Thanks anyhow.
