Alarm trouble

I hate the stock alarm on my 1997 Z28. It is way too sensitive! Is there anyway to disable it? What fuse would disable the alarm? Thanks for the help.

Re: Alarm trouble

Mine was too sensitive also, I turned the **** down (counterclockwise) on the shock sensor and rarely get false alarms now. To disable it you can just unplug the sensor. I'm pretty sure the 97's are the same.

Re: Alarm trouble

Where is the sensor located? I would like to try making it less sensitive before I disable it.

Re: Alarm trouble

The shock sensor is located in the spare tire compartment, double-sided taped near the top of the wheel well.

I've never tried unplugging it to see if it disables keyless entry, I'm thinking the BCM controls that - you can give it a try while you're in there.
