a4 to m6 pcm question

i bought a 93 that was converted to a standard. I think the computer is going out, because it acts like it is bouncing off of the rev limiter @ 3000 rpms. i had it scanned and it showed computer issues. it does have a chip in it, but i know that with a chip it won't pull the proper codes. i tried to pull the chip out but it is like there is more than one thing attached to what i assume is like the mother board. it won't start if i take it out. i assume it is the original computer. if i was to replace it should i get another a4 computer and have a new chip burned or one for a m6? for the m6, i would need a whole new wiring harness wouldn't i?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: a4 to m6 pcm question

Someone has already had a chip burned. That is what the attached motherboard means. Yes you need to have one burned for a M6 f you are going to reburn one.
