95 3.4 hard cold start

95 3.4 hard cold start

wondering if my prob. maybe crank position sensor, obd II scanner wont work.well if i keep clicking key it eventually fires then eventually starts then eventually stays running in that order then runs ok at times but usually erratic,not shifting at proper times, not going into overdrive at all at times-unless i shut car off and restart it, then it may shift fine,in neutral the tach. will fluctuate erratically, well any knowledgeable answers will be appreciated

The 95 LT1's have an OBD-I PCM with an OBD-II style 16-pin ALDL connector. I suspect the 3.4L V6 is the same. Try an OBD-I scanner with the correct 12-pin --> 16-pin adapter plug, or do what Shoebox shows:
