red it is, well, at least the connection on the end is... why is it even there if they just leave it disconnected

Its used for testing the fuel pump. If you apply 12v to it, it activates the fuel pump. The factory has several test procedures that make use of it.

I should clarify - if it is a single read wire with a black connector, it is the fuel pump test connector. If it is a clear red connector with a gray outer shield, with a bunch of wires going into it, that's one of the PCM connectors.

Single red wire, black connector... I thought off the top of my head it was different, but I took the pic, so I am postin it anyways.

anyways, what about the two sensors just sitting there zip tied up and out of the way???? One looks like the connector on the MAF, And the other looks like the connector that plugs into the Air Temp Sensor. I could not find exactly where they ran to... too tight of a squeeze. any Ideas?

Pictures would be helpful, but my guess is the one that looks like the MAF is for the air pump and the other might be for the EGR valve, which are two popular deletes.

they are tucked up under neath where my intake 90*s down to the intercooler... lotta hose clams to get to... another day I suppose. I didnt think about the egr delete.

I'm sure this goes without saying, but keep in mind your 1997 PCM will need to be programmed before you can use it with your setup.

posenheimer supposedly has an OBD2-->OBD1 conversion PCM, though. That generally means the PCM had the resistors soldered in it to account for the different knock sensors used in the OBD2 cars.

If posenheimer has an OBD2-->OBD1 conversion PCM with the resistors, no changes will be required. If the former owner installed a straight OBD1 PCM with OBD1 knock sensors, then posenheimer will have to change the knock sensors too.

man I hope they soldered them in. How do I go about telling????? Or not telling for that matter? Can I just get an LT4 knock sensor and put it in the ecu when I get it in the mail??

That's what the previous statement should have said. I don't assume he has anything. He has to find out just what he does have to make it work.
